This year, the Rimi Riga Marathon will take place for the 34th time, and it is undoubtedly the most significant mass sports event in the Baltics, attracting around 30,000 participants from more than 75 countries worldwide. In the largest running celebration in the Baltic states on May 18th and 19th in Riga, both large and small participants will be able to run various distances and enjoy spending time together throughout the entire weekend.
Fair at Kalnciema quarter

Every Saturday, Latvian farmers offer local goods at the Kalnciema Quarter Fair, and craftsmen come to sell unique pieces of handiwork. Children are invited to participate in creative workshops, free of charge, and to ride a colorful merry-go-round. The theme of the fair changes to reflect seasonal festivals, during which there also are concerts, exhibitions, open-air plays, and other activities taking place at the fair.

There is at least one night a year when you can stay awake and wander the bustling city streets. Museum Night marks the beginning of summer every year and does so in a very original and educational way, allowing visitors to enjoy the permanent as well as specially prepared exhibitions in the evening and at night.

The Agenskalns Market invites to the longest breakfast in the city. All sorts of dishes will be available on the breakfast table, oysters and breakfast bubbles will be served.
