Spent three days in Riga and always looking for a more local experience when I travel. I stumbled upon the Smile Line Agency (www.smileline.lv) while exploring the Old Town and took one of their guides for a private walking tour. The guide named Toms was excellent and very personal. I told him at the start of the tour what I was looking for and he provided me exactly what I wanted. My interest was to cover some of the Old Town but also the Art Nouveau area of Riga and the food market. I must say he nailed it and tailored the tour to exactly what I was looking for. He gave me a wealth of information and had an answer to every question. The highlight of the tour was a visit to the market hall where he took me from hall to hall sampling all of the local Latvian foods which was a real treat for me. It was like touring around with a friend of mine who just happened to be an expert on Riga!
