The cultural event “night of churches” invites people to discover the cultural heritage and spiritual values stored for centuries in Riga and Latvian churches and engage in various activities. Also this year, “day of the Open Churches” will join the “night of churches” event and every congregation will keep their house of worship open to guests from 10:00 a.m.

In the heart of Vecriga, in the Doma Square, you will be able to get the most real feeling of the Liga festival all day long. Farmers and craftsmen from all over Latvia will offer their products on long tables and merchant Budinis. Light linen clothes and aprons, crocheted lace hats and blouses, amber jewellery and wooden spoons – everything you need for the Feast of Ligo!

Fair at Kalnciema quarter

Every Saturday, Latvian farmers offer local goods at the Kalnciema Quarter Fair, and craftsmen come to sell unique pieces of handiwork. Children are invited to participate in creative workshops, free of charge, and to ride a colorful merry-go-round. The theme of the fair changes to reflect seasonal festivals, during which there also are concerts, exhibitions, open-air plays, and other activities taking place at the fair.
