My name is Riga. I was born more than eight centuries ago on the banks of the Daugava River, and since then I have grown into the beautiful and fascinating city you see today. My father was Bishop Albert of Livonia, but over the centuries many others came, hoping to conquer my heart.
Through wars, foreign rule and centuries of change, I have remained strong, proud and full of stories. Listen carefully to my name — Ri-ga. It sounds like music, like a promise, like a secret.

For pre-school children the tours are free of charge, for schoolchildren- half-price.
